From aswNS@hampshire.edu Thu May 12 23:34:41 2005 Date: Thu, 12 May 2005 23:25:28 -0400 (EDT) From: Al WoodhullReply-To: Al Woodhull To: Dragons Softball Mailing List Subject: Dragons over Ooze, 18-7 Tom was worried that he didn't send out enough e-mail and we might not have a team, but it worked out OK. We had the first at-bat and got off to a good start with one run, but the Ooze came back with three in the bottom of the first. We tied it up in the second inning and from them on the Ooze were ours. We scored in every inning, the best was the fourth when we batted the whole order and brought in 5. The Ooze got one more in the 4th and 3 in the 5th. Highlights I remember (not necessarily everything noteworthy): Tom and Lawren both had triples in the 6th inning. Natasha at catcher caught a pop foul at a crucial time with bases loaded and only one out. Ray (recruited by Anna) replaced me after the first inning (my leg is still troubling) and got on base 4 times in 5 at-bats, an auspicious start. I signed him up before he could leave. Anna was very effective on defense at 2nd base. Today's starting players, in batting order: Matt, Jenn, Lawren, Ben T., Marcy, Brian, Anna, Tom, Natasha, Al. Ray went in for me after the 1st, Mary went in for Natasha in the bottom of the 5th. Winning pitcher: Brian, Ben gets the save. Next week's games: Tuesday May 17 at Fort River 2 vs. the Drawing Dead (formerly 10-56s), and Thursday May 19 vs the Coyotes at Kiwanis Park. I will try to get the complete schedule on the web page soon. If anyone needs a printed schedule let me know. Anna and Ray are going to Japan and will miss the next three games, so we need to see a few people in the next few weeks who didn't make it today. - Al +----------------------------------+ | Albert S.
