Subject: Dragons take Spare Parts apart

Well, the Dragons may be only second in the overall standings, but the
otherwise undefeated Spare Parts are now only 1 for 3 against us. We did
it again tonight in a back-and-forth game from which we emerged with a
solid 9-7 win.

We took a 4-1 lead in the first, but the Parts held us and came back in the
second, it was 5-4 Parts after 2. The next two innings were scoreless, and
in the fifth we got 3 and held them scoreless, so it was 7-5 Dragons after
5 innings. In the top of the sixth the Parts got one, but we came back
with 2 in the bottom, so it was then 9-6 Dragons. Our opponents tried to
rally in the top of the 7th, and got three runners on base, but only one
scored.

The Parts were playing with Otto (a male Otto this time) and in our other
victory over them last week they were also playing with 9. But 5 of our 14
victories this season have been with Ms Sing playing in our 10th spot, so
I won't let anybody use that as an excuse for losing to us.

Our lineup today was Matt, Jen, Mark, Lawren, Marcy, Tom, Gaby, Joe, Mary,
and Brian. Tom only played two innings, then Brian came in to pitch and
Vince took 3rd base. I was feeling a bit stiff after too many hours at the
computer and did not play. Marcy's son Joe has been on our roster all
season, but this was his first game, and I hope he'll be with us again
next year.

I must say, this was a nice victory. The Spare Parts don't seem to have as 
much fun as we do, that makes winning even more fun for me.
